Calling all public authority staff! Learn how to appeal-proof your FOI processes and practice. Sign up now for one of our free, upcoming lunchtime webinars. Here's what you need to know.
The Commissioner welcomes anyone responsible for responding to freedom of information and environmental requests to register for one of these short online sessions. The sessions will be delivered by Jennifer Ross, Deputy Head of Enforcement and Elaine Moffat from our Policy and Information team.
We'll provide practical advice on how to reduce the risk of reviews and appeals arising, drawing on insight from the decisions we issue, the interventions we carry out, and our day-to-day engagements with public authority staff and requesters.
Join us to refresh your knowledge, ask questions, and pick up practical tips on managing requests effectively with robust processes. We'll also discuss some of the latest trends that have led to an increase in appeals to the Commissioner and how to avoid some of the common issues which arise at appeal stage.

Sessions are taking place on either:
Tuesday 25 November (12:30 to 13:30); or
Thursday 4 December (12:00-13:00).
Both sessions will take place using Microsoft Teams and will cover the same content.  To book your webinar place, register here
We're also aiming to share some of the learning from our webinars through our Open Update newsletter, so if you're not registered already, you can sign up by filling your details in below.
